Not a big story in a game when 4th rankedBrno 2 (9-12) was defeated on the road by second ranked Liberec (13-9) 87-78 on Friday. Liberec made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Brno 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Liberec looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Brno 2 's players. The best player for the winners was center Miroslav Stafl (211-1999, college: Coastal) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Filip Novotny (192-1999) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Milan Stranel (201-2005) who recorded 15 points and power forward Simon Svoboda (201-2004) added 14 points respectively. Four Brno 2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Liberec have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-9 record having four points less than leader Cz.Academy, which they share with Zlin. Brno 2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with J.Hradec.
